What is Book of the Month (BOTM)?

Book of the Month is a book lover’s dream. As the most popular subscription service in the book world (America’s #1 monthly book plan; now available in Canada too), it has the best new release books for readers – period.

How Does BOTM Work? A Quick Guide for April 2025

They pick a few, then we pick our fav! It couldn’t be easier . . . or more fun.

“Choose from our curated selection of the best new reads every month and get them delivered.” (Book of the Month, 2023)

Book of the Month has been curating the best in new books for decades (five or more monthly selections). That means, we get to “choose from stories vetted by cool people with great taste,” (Book of the Month, 2023).

Each month, readers pick a book from the list to add to their subscription box. And then, just like magic, it’s delivered right to your door – in its famous, beautiful blue box.

    • Step 1. We feature a few wow-worthy reads.
    • Step 2. You decide if you want one (or more).
    • Step 3. Then you read, review, and repeat (Book of the Month, 2023).

All it takes are three easy steps. First, pick a book from the list. Book of the Month unfailingly focuses on exciting new releases, perspectives, genres, and authors in special edition hardcover. Second, get your book. It’s always the best day when that iconic blue box arrives at the door! Third, skip a month at any time. Are you behind on your reading? Nothing catching your eye? Just roll your credits over, no problem.

Even better, Book of the Month picks are often early releases that haven’t been published yet. What does that mean? You get early access to read them before they’re even available in stores (like an advanced copy). How cool is that?

And don’t forget the add-ons! Want more than one? After your first book, you can add up to four extra titles at a significantly discounted price (current picks, past favourites, or add-on catalog new releases). And after your third box, it gets even better. You can pick from five reader’s favorite books for your choice instead.

    How Much Does BOTM Cost?

Book of the Month costs $12.50-17.99 USD (approx. $24.20-26.99 CAD) per month depending on your membership plan (i.e., definitely cheaper than buying hardcover new releases at the bookstore). You’ll even get your first book at a major discount! And if you buy a yearly plan, you’ll save even more per book (add-on books are always discounted too).

New subscriber? You’ll likely find great special offers on Book of the Month’s website to sign up. Book lover in your life? Book of the Month has gift card subscriptions too. You can easily cancel your membership if you wish – but I don’t think you’ll want to!

Get all the details on the subscription and membership by visiting the official Book of the Month website.

Book of the Month Benefits & Perks

It’s about to get even better! Book of the Month loves rewarding its members. Its amazing loyalty program, Relationship Status, gives long-term members incredible benefits.

Synopsis of Passion Project by London Sperry

If your twenties are supposed to be the best years of your life, Bennet Taylor is failing miserably…with a big emphasis on the miserable. Where’s that zest she keeps hearing about? She’s a temp worker in New York City with no direction, no future, and no social life. And at the painful center of this listlessness is grief over the death of her first love.

When Bennet runs into Henry Adams just hours after standing him up for a first date, she makes an alcohol-fueled confession: She’s not ready to date. In fact, it’s been years since she felt passion for something. Not even pottery, or organized sports—not anything. Rather than leaving her to ruminate, Henry jumps at the opportunity for adventure: Bennet needs to find a passion for life, and Henry will help her find it. Every Saturday, they’ll try something new in New York City. As friends, of course.

As their “passion project” continues, the pair tackle everything from carpentry to tattooing to rappelling off skyscrapers, and Bennet feels her guarded exterior ebbing away. But as secrets surface, Bennet has to decide what she wants, and if she’s truly ready to move on.

Synopsis of Every Sweet Thing is Bitter by Samantha Crewson

Thirteen years ago, Providence Byrd threw the family car in reverse and ran over her mother. Even though her mother survived, that single instant of teenage madness made Providence a felon and irrevocably altered her life. When her mother disappears years later under suspicious circumstances, Providence tells herself that returning home is her chance to find closure after a prolonged estrangement from her family. Never mind that this is only half of the truth: she’s also returning to finally confront her abusive father, Tom Byrd. Nothing can stamp out Providence’s certainty that he is guilty of whatever terrible thing has happened to her mother.

As the search unfolds, Providence is haunted by the wounds of her past, none of which cut as deep as the distance between her and her younger sisters. Harmony and Grace are both uniquely scarred by her attempted matricide, and both have their own idea of what reconciliations might look like—if reconciling is even possible. Harmony urges Providence to make their father pay for his sins; Grace begs her to end the cycle of violence that has haunted their family for generations. As her thirst for vengeance collides with her desire to heal her relationships with her sisters, Providence must decide which she values more: revenge or redemption.

When renowned painter Mira Novak arrives at Wadia hospital in Bombay after a miscarriage, she’s expected to make a quick recovery, and her nurse, Sona, is excited to learn more about the vivacious artist who shares her half-Indian identity. Sona, yearning for a larger life, finds herself carried away by Mira’s stories of her travels and exploits and is shocked by accounts of the many lovers the painter has left scattered throughout Europe. When Mira dies quite suddenly and mysteriously, Sona falls under suspicion, and her quiet life is upended.

The key to proving Sona’s innocence may lie in a cryptic note and four paintings Mira left in her care, sending the young woman on a mission to visit the painter’s former friends and lovers across a tumultuous Europe teetering toward war. On the precipice of discovering her own identity, Sona learns that the painter’s charming facade hid a far more complicated, troubled soul.

My Book of the Month April 2025 Picks

What are your thoughts on the Book of the Month April 2025 selections? I’m genuinely impressed—once again! It’s been an excellent start to the year for BOTM.

Of the main picks, I’m in the mood for something light and fun, especially as spring approaches. Jennifer Weiner’s The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits, which explores the “life-shattering fame, forbidden love, and contentious relationship between pop star sisters” (Book of the Month, 2025) in the 2000s, is my top choice.

I’m also drawn to London Sperry’s Passion Project. A heartfelt romance centered around female friendships in Manhattan? Exactly the type of novel I can get lost in this season.

As for the Book of the Month April 2025 audiobooks, you know I’m obsessed with nonfiction. Amanda Knox’s Free: My Search for Meaning is my first audiobook pick. I’m also intrigued by Krysten Ritter’s Retreat—her authenticity as an actress and director makes me eager to dive into her “serpentine thriller.”

For the member faves, narrowing it down was tough, but I’d go with Emily Habeck’s Shark Heart: A Love Story, Charmaine Wilkerson’s Black Cake, and Lisa Jewell’s None of This is True—if only I had endless reading time!

And the new add-ons—these are always some of my favorites! Sarah Damoff’s The Bright Years, a “big-hearted family saga,” was an easy pick for me.

I’ve been so happy with this year’s BOTM selections so far. If I had unlimited time, these would definitely top my list for April 2025. I can’t wait to start reading and see how many of these amazing books I can get through!

What April 2025 BOTM Picks Will You Read?

When her best friend jokingly suggests she “marry rich,” she turns the quip into a calculated mission: 100 dates and one proposal before fall. From tech heirs to Porsche-driving producers, her summer becomes a carousel of cocktails, privilege, and increasingly surreal encounters. But a crisis back home and unresolved family tensions disrupt her plan, pushing her to reevaluate what she truly wants. Maybe, just maybe, love was never about the spreadsheet.

My Book of the Month March 2025 Picks

How do we feel about the Book of the Month March 2025 picks? I have to say, I’m definitely very excited about several of these intriguing selections!

Of the main selections, I’m most drawn to Charlotte McConaughy’s Wild Dark Shore. After leaning toward a thriller last month, this contemporary fiction read with its beautifully haunting title (and cover) is really calling to me. It’s hard to resist a new romantic mystery!

I also want to give an honorable mention to Care and Feeding by Laurie Woolever. I wouldn’t call myself a “foodie” in the reading sense (outside of health and wellness), but I have a deep love for nonfiction in all forms. I can never resist a memoir, especially “a delectable tell-all detailing the triumphs and blunders of an ambitious writer’s journey through the NYC food world” (Book of the Month, 2025), influenced by the legendary Anthony Bourdain.

Now, let’s talk audiobooks. I’m still sticking with Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister as one of my top picks (as I hinted last month; Book of the Month February 2025 Picks). For my second choice, Count My Lies by Sophie Stava is another thriller that’s really catching my attention.

As for member faves, I think I’m more excited about these picks than any others! The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles is my absolute #1 choice (I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet), and The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer easily takes second place for me.

Next up? New add-ons. As you know, I’m all about a Reese’s Book Club pick, so Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall is going to be on my shelf soon. And I can never resist a bright neon cover or a captivating title, so Jane and Dan at the End of the World by Colleen Oakley is definitely also very tempting.

But the most exciting Book of the Month March 2025 news? The Book of the Year 2024 announcements! Both the winners and finalists were revealed as special free add-ons this month, and I’m thrilled. As the Book of the Year 2024 winner, Liz Moore’s The God of the Woods is a must-read for me, followed by Kristin Hannah’s The Women as one of the exceptional finalists (but let’s be real, all of the finalists are amazing choices).

It’s been another fantastic month of book picks. But as always, it’s not about how many books you read—I always overestimate how many I can actually get through in real, everyday life. What matters is reading what you can and letting those books shift your perspective, even in small but meaningful ways. Hopefully, the Book of the Month March 2025 picks will do just that.

What March 2025 BOTM Picks Will You Read?

Are you in the mood for a dark thriller, a feel-good rom-com, incredible memoir, or something else entirely? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear which title grabbed your attention the most. My February 2025 Celebrity Book Club Picks

The February 2025 celebrity book club picks are a fantastic mix of genres and voices that I can’t wait to dive into. From historical fiction to literary horror, there’s something for every mood this month—and as always, it was tough narrowing down my top picks. But I’ve managed to pick my favorites, and I’m already adding them to my TBR pile!

If I had to choose just one to start with, it would be Isola by Allegra Goodman, Reese’s Book Club pick for February 2025. I don’t always find myself immersed in historical fiction, but this one promises to be rich in atmosphere and emotion. Reese’s picks never disappoint, and I’m especially excited to see how this one unfolds. I’m definitely making room for it this month.

Oprah’s Book Club is continuing with A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, a pick that carries over from January. As a lover of all things nonfiction, I rarely pass on the genre—especially an Oprah pick one as iconic as this one. A New Earth focuses on spiritual growth and awakening, and I know it will be a powerful read for those looking to start the year with purpose.

Next, I’m drawn to This Is a Love Story by Jessica Soffer, selected by Read With Jenna. This literary fiction pick looks like it’s going to be an emotional journey, and while it might be a bit of a tearjerker, I’m ready for it. I can already tell it will be one of those books that stays with you long after you finish it.

And of course, I couldn’t leave out Dakota Johnson’s TeaTime Book Club pick, The Lamb by Lucy Rose. This literary horror novel is 100% going on my TBR. It sounds intense and unsettling in all the right ways, and I’m here for it!

As for my runner-up picks, Belletrist’s selection of The Mystery Guest by Grégoire Bouillier is a memoir that’s full of wit and reflection—definitely a must-read for nonfiction fans (like yours truly). And Dua Lipa’s Service 95 Book Club pick, The Bee Sting by Paul Murray, is a literary fiction exploration of complex family dynamics that promises to be immersive and thought-provoking. Both are on my radar for future reads.

With so many excellent options, it’s hard to choose which one to read first! But no matter what, February 2025 is shaping up to be a great month of reading. If you missed the January 2025 celebrity book club picks, be sure to check them out for even more fantastic celebrity book recommendations. And if you’re looking for more great reads and new releases, don’t forget to take a look at the Book of the Month February 2025 picks for additional selections. February 2025 Celebrity Book Club Picks: What You Need to Know

What are the most talked-about celebrity book club picks this month?

Reese’s Isola by Allegra Goodman, Read With Jenna’s This Is a Love Story by Jessica Soffer, and GMA’s Junie by Erin Crosby Eckstine are leading the must-read February 2025 celebrity book club picks. Oprah is continuing with her January pick, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which remains a top nonfiction read.

Do any of the February 2025 celebrity book club picks stand out for book clubs?

Definitely! This month’s selections cover powerful themes—love, war, personal transformation, and family dynamics—that make for rich discussions. Whether you’re in a formal book club or casual reading group, there’s something here to dive into.

Is Oprah’s February 2025 pick really the same as January?

Yes—Oprah is keeping A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle as her current pick through February. This spiritual nonfiction choice has long-term impact and rewards slow, reflective reading. It carries over from January, as Oprah’s Book Club did not select a new title this month.

Can I listen to the February 2025 celebrity book club picks as audiobooks?

Absolutely! Nearly all of the February 2025 celebrity book club picks are available in audiobook format, with professional narration that brings the stories to life—ideal for commutes, chores, or quiet nights.

Where can I see all the current celebrity book club picks in one place?

Book of the Month February 2025

Read on to discover the Book of the Month February 2025 picks and which ones I can’t wait to get on my bookshelf. Get ready to read your heart out!

What is Book of the Month (BOTM)?

Book of the Month is a book lover’s dream. As the most popular subscription service in the book world (America’s #1 monthly book plan; now available in Canada too), it has the best new release books for readers – period.

How Does BOTM Work? A Quick Guide for February 2025

Book of the Month Benefits & Perks

Here are my thoughts. First, I’m most excited about Gillian McAllister’s Famous Last Words. I’m ready to switch up genres from last month’s picks, and an action-packed “dizzying game of cat-and-mouse” (Book of the Month, 2025) thriller is exactly what I’m looking for.

Second, T.J. Klune’s The Bones Beneath My Skin has me totally intrigued. How can you turn down a quirky, cozy “road trip adventure with cosmic reach” (Book of the Month, 2025)? You can’t!

As for audiobooks, I’m thrilled to highlight an award-winning Canadian author. Emily Austin’s We Could Be Rats had already caught my eye last month (Book of the Month January 2025 Picks) and is staying firmly on my to-be-read list.

My second audiobook choice is Kristin Koval’s Penitence. A mysterious, coming-of-age novel that spans decades and explores forgiveness? I can’t think of a more interesting audiobook to listen to as I cross things off my to-do list around the house while waiting for spring.

What about member faves? I’m really excited about the choices this month! I’m all about nonfiction, so Bethany Joy Lenz’s Dinner for Vampires: Life on a Cult TV Show is screaming my name. I think Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House might be too!

Next up? New add-ons. Like everyone else, I’ll definitely be all over We All Live Here by #1 New York Times bestselling author Jojo Moyes. Also, the stunningly beautiful cover of Samantha Sotto Yambao’s Water Moon has already completely captivated me – I could lose myself entirely in the cover art itself, let alone in the story. I can’t wait to dive in!

I’m beyond excited about these selections. But, as always, it’s not about how many books we read (I rarely get through all of the ones I hope to)! It’s about making the time to read what we can and letting those books make an impact. And the Book of the Month February 2025 picks are definitely going to help us get there!

My Top Picks From January 2025 Celebrity Book Clubs

The January 2025 celebrity book club picks are seriously good. With so many compelling selections across different genres and voices, it was hard to narrow it down! But a few titles really stood out to me—and I’m already eyeing them for my TBR pile. Get ready for my top three . . .

If I had to choose just one to start with, it would be A New Earth: Create a Better Life by Eckhart Tolle, Oprah’s Book Club pick this month. Oprah is kicking off the new year by revisiting this iconic title on personal fulfillment, spiritual awakening, and how to live a more meaningful life—and I couldn’t agree more. I’m definitely adding it to my list.

As a lover of all things nonfiction, I’m especially drawn to Saving Time: Discovering a Life Beyond the Clock by Jenny Odell, selected by Natalie’s Book Club. It’s exactly the kind of book I can’t resist while setting New Year’s intentions. A less clock-driven life? Yes, please.

January 2025 Celebrity Book Club Picks

With two nonfiction picks, I’ll make my third top pick a fiction title. Another book I can’t wait to dive into? The Life Cycle of the Common Octopus by Emma Knight, selected by Read With Jenna. Honestly, how could any reader resist that title? Described as “an insightful novel that explores womanhood, motherhood, and the transformative power of friendship, all while questioning how much of our past shapes our future,” it sounds like the perfect winter weekend read. Even better? It’s written by a Canadian author — and as always, I love spotlighting standout Canadian fiction whenever I can.

Even though I can’t read everything this month (especially with the incredible January 2025 Book of the Month selections too), I’ve also got my eye on After Life by Gayle Forman (GMA’s YA Book Club pick) and The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware (Jen Hatmaker’s Book Club selection)—which I still can’t believe I haven’t finished yet. Both sound like perfect additions to my ever-growing TBR list this season.

With so many amazing choices from the January 2025 celebrity book club picks, it’s going to be hard to decide which to read first (especially with the incredible Book of the Month January 2025 selections too). But no matter what, I’m sure these picks will make for some fantastic reading. Let me know which ones you’re most excited about too!

Which Celebrity Book Club Pick Is Your Favorite?

Book of the Month January 2025

Read on to discover the Book of the Month January 2025 picks and which ones I can’t wait to get on my bookshelf.

A Quick Guide for January 2025

After three boxes, you’ll get “friend” benefits (i.e., ship up to five books each month and cast your vote for Book of the Year). After 12 boxes, you’ll also get “BFF” benefits. These include special free gifts – a tote bag, birthday book on your special day, your choice of a Book of the Year finalist, plus priority service. Sign me up!

My Book of the Month January 2025 Picks

Book of the Month January 2025 has some incredible selections this month. I’m absolutely loving every pick for this month’s lineup!

If I have to choose, I am most excited about Layne Fargo’s The Favorites. As a glamorous, “intoxicating tale of ambition, sabotage, and love” (Book of the Month, 2025), I just don’t think I can miss out on this one.

As a second choice, I’m also very tempted by Kate Fagan’s The Three Lives of Kate Cay. A “propulsive tale of buried secrets, hidden identities, and a reclusive author’s journey to finally tell her own story” (Book of the Month, 2025)? That’s exactly the kind of book I can’t wait to get my hands on this month.

What about audiobooks? The Book of the Month January 2025 picks also include excellent audiobook options. A passionate lover of nonfiction, my first choice is Shari Franke’s memoir, The House of My Mother

My second audiobook choice is Alice Feeney’s Beautiful Ugly. A “twisty island thriller about a missing wife and a man who can’t trust his own mind” (Book of the Month, 2025) sounds like just the thing to pass these grey winter days inside—I’m definitely adding this one to my list.

For member faves, Rebecca Ross’ A River Enchanted and Melissa Fu’s Peach Blossom Spring both catch my eye. And the new add-ons include several options I’d love to read too. An award-winning Canadian author, I’m so intrigued by Emily Austin’s We Could Be Rats. Also, the cover of Adrienne Young’s A Sea of Unspoken Things looks so dreamy too.

Lastly, I can’t overlook Lisa Genova’s More or Less Maddy. As the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the exceptional Still Alice, I’ll absolutely be reading her new novel on bipolar disorder as soon as possible.

I might not have time to read every single one of these this month (especially with all the amazing January 2025 celebrity book club picks too), but I’m beyond excited about them! Of the Book of the Month January 2025 selections, I’m drawn to these titles the most (but I wish I could read them all). I’ve already added them to my to-be-read list. I can’t wait!
